BEFORE YOU
SURRENDER YOUR GUN RIGHTS READ THIS
Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia
Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real
figures from Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners
in Australia were forced by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to
be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more
than $500 million dollars.
The first year results are now in: Australia-wide,
homicides are up 3.2 percent, Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In
the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note
that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not! and
criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady
decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in
the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is
unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and
assaults of the elderly.
Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public
safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in
"successfully ridding Australian society of guns." You won't see this
on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State
Assembly disseminating this information.
The Australian experience proves it. Guns in the
hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws
affect only the law-abiding citizens.
Take note Americans, before it's too late!
A PRAYER FOR
OUR TROOPS FROM THE INTERNET
"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless
acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of
Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
FROM THE
CBN WEB SITE
It is a story that has the Christian
community on the edge of its seat. In Philadelphia, 11 Christians were arrested
and charged under Pennsylvania’s hate crimes law (the Ethnic Intimidation
Act), for preaching the Gospel. The arrests took place at a homosexual event
last October, and five of the 11 still face serious criminal charges.
THINK ABOUT
THIS ONE
Very Profound!
An Oldie but worth repeating..........
Boy ... this hits the nail right on the head! In
light of the many perversions and jokes we send to one another for a
laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke, it's not
funny, it's intended to get you thinking.
Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the
Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like
this happen?" (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11). Anne Graham gave
an extremely profound and insightful response. She said "I believe God is
deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to
get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our
lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How
can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He
leave us alone?
In light of recent events...terrorists attack,
school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was
murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our
schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in
school the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your
neighbor as yourself. And we said OK. Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't
spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would
be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed
suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.
Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't
know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their
classmates, and themselves. Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough,
we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT
WE SOW."
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God
and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the
newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes'
through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages
regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd,
crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public
discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace. Are you laughing?
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your
address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they WILL think
of you for sending it. Funny how we can be more worried about what other people
think of us than! what God thinks of us?
"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant
who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us,
he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an
outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or
origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American,
and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man
who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all.
We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red
flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much
as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have
room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have
room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907
